Restaurant Workers Demand Sick Days

By

02-cm-sanders-and-crowd.jpgCapital Grille workers and members of the Restaurant Opportunities Center-NY rallied March 27 to demand that the restaurant’s owner, Darden Restaurant Group, provide employees with paid sick days. They also voiced support for a bill now before the City Council that would require most employers in NYC to provide at least some paid sick time. The bill would provide five to nine paid sick days per year to many of the 1 million workers in the city who currently lack them. Councilmember James Sanders, Jr., is at center.
