New York State Law mandates all employers carry worker’s compensation insurance to cover the cost of caring for injuries incurred on the job. This means if you’re hurt on the job, CUNY must pay for the cost of caring for your injury or illness.
First, make sure your injuries are attended. Next, notify your chair and HR in writing within 30 days. It’s a good idea to talk with your chapter grievance counselor.
