Join Bernie Sanders and the PSC at Lehman College to Say: Invest in CUNY, Tax the Rich!
New York State is in the final weeks of this year’s budget negotiations, and there is so much on the line. We need strong CUNY funding to protect our jobs and expand our ability to serve students. We need the universal childcare, improved access to transit, and expanded affordable housing that Mayor Mamdani’s campaign championed. And we need wealthy corporations and the super rich to pay their fair share of taxes to make these critical investments possible.
The PSC is playing a key role in organizing a powerful rally at Lehman College in the Bronx this Sunday, March 29th, featuring Senator Bernie Sanders, along with local advocates who are calling for the progressive tax system we need in New York State. Programming will begin around 1pm, with PSC President James Davis scheduled to speak at 1:30pm, and folks are encouraged to arrive early to ensure they can get in. Please, register to join us there.
A huge turnout, and a huge union presence within that crowd at our own CUNY campus, will have a real impact on the final budget. Tell us you’ll be there!
PSC Members Meet at 1:30PM, Step Off at 2 PM
No Kings, Saturday, March 28
Hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers will protest and march this Saturday at the next No Kings mobilization. It’s expected to be bigger than the last two events–the largest mass day of protests in United States’ history. March with the PSC to say fight back against fascism and hate. March with the PSC at the next No Kings on Saturday, March 28th to oppose hated and fascism and say No hate! No fear! No ICE! No Kings! We’ll have signs and banners and some union swag. Wear your red PSC gear if you have it and bring friends and family.
The PSC contingent will gather by 1:30 PM at 62nd St. and Central Park West on the park side (map). Look for the union staff in red PSC vests to check in and get a sign. We will step off at 2 PM heading south down Broadway. At Times Square, we will converge with another stream of the march heading down 7th Avenue before dispersing at 34th Street.
