PSC’s $62.6 Million City Budget Platform

The PSC and the CUNY Rising Alliance are campaigning to increase NYC funding for CUNY by $62.6 million. Read the full details of our City budget platform to enhance the academic experience, promote racial equality, boost the economy and ensure safer communities. Mayor Adams’s Executive Budget includes a 3% budget cut for most city agencies, which would leave more than 100 CUNY faculty lines unfilled after attrition. However, City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams proposed a $23 million CUNY Reconnect Initiative to help the New Yorkers with some college credits to complete their education at CUNY, and the Mayor has a $5 million plan to create career paths for CUNY students in emerging industries.
