PSC Members Meet at 1:30PM, Step Off at 2 PM
No Kings, Saturday, March 28
Five million protested in No Kings last June. Seven million took to the streets in October. We’re stronger now, but the Trump regime has only gotten worse. Be part of the growing movement to fight back against fascism and hate. March with the PSC at the next No Kings on Saturday, March 28th to say No hate! No fear! No ICE! No Kings!
Hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers will gather around Central Park South then head south in two streams down Broadway and 7th Avenue before converging at Times Square and continuing on to end at 34th Street. The PSC and other unions will march down Broadway. Bring your family, friends and colleagues to march with us!
The PSC contingent will gather by 1:30 PM at 62nd St. and Central Park West on the park side and will step off at 2 PM heading south down Broadway.
Register here to tell us you plan to march with the PSC at the next No Kings.

CUNY For All City Budget Press Conference
City Council Higher Education Chair Rita Joseph at CUNY for All Press Conference Credit: Paul Frangipane
Dozens of PSC members, students, and legislative and community allies rallied with the CUNY Rising Alliance (CRA) on Tuesday outside New York City Hall to demand CUNY for All. This year, that means replenishing the ranks of full-time faculty and staff, funding free transit for CUNY students, protecting grant-funded programs, and expanding proven student success programs like CUNY Reconnect, ASAP and ACE. Ultimately, it means providing for the truly free and fully funded university that New Yorkers deserve.
We were proud to be joined by New York City Council Higher Education Chair Rita Joseph and Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, who spoke at the event along with representatives from CRA member groups including PSC President James Davis. The City funds roughly three-quarters of CUNY community college operations, and we will continue fighting shoulder to shoulder with our CUNY champions to ensure local government does its part to make our university system the excellent and well-resourced institution we need. PSC Statement on War Against Iran
The Executive Council of the Professional Staff Congress strongly condemns the U.S.-Israel war on Iran. Iran is not an imminent threat to the people of the United States, and the shifting rationales that President Trump has provided for war are dangerously misguided.
As a union long committed to advocating for peaceful solutions to international conflicts, the PSC took an early stance against the “War on Terror,” opposing the U.S. invasion of Iraq, the war in Afghanistan, and what the New York Times called “America’s Forever Wars”. We do so again in opposing the unprovoked and unlawfully authorized war against Iran. Click here to read the full statement.

NYU Must Settle a Fair Contract – Or Face a Strike
Support Contract Faculty United | UAW Region 9 Workers

More than two years ago, contract faculty across NYU voted overwhelmingly to form Contract Faculty United – UAW, the largest union of private-university full-time non-tenure track faculty in the country. Since then, the NYU administration has dragged its feet, committed unfair labor practices, and refused to make strong proposals that respond to their legitimate needs. The workers have had enough and have set an unfair labor practices strike deadline: Monday, March 23rd.
Our union siblings deserve a strong first contract with improved job security, compensation, and benefits – and terms that will protect their academic freedom.
PSC members can act in solidarity right now by sending this letter to NYU’s Board of Trustees and high level administrators urging them to bargain in good faith and settle a fair contract. Watch the PSC’s social media feeds and the next This Week for more opportunities to show support.
Higher Ed Labor United - Northeast Regional Bargaining Next Steps Gathering, March 24
Higher Ed Labor United (HELU) is a coalition of unions and other groups representing almost a quarter-million academic workers organizing to build a wall-to-wall and coast-to-coast labor movement throughout the academy. Earlier this year, a delegation of PSC leaders participated in a HELU summit on regional bargaining coordination with representatives from 55 academic unions from nine states.
The Northeast Regional Bargaining Next Steps Gathering will be a half-day conference Tuesday, March 24th, 1:30-5:00 PM at the CUNY Grad Center, 365 5th Avenue. All PSC members are welcome to attend. (Download a flier.) There is no cost, but registration is required–RSVP here.
Join us to discuss the ongoing attacks on higher education and coordinate effective local, regional, and national responses. Attendees will dive into contract language, discuss urgent issues facing their specific sectors, and make plans for advancing a shared vision for higher education and regional bargaining coordination.
This event is generously hosted by the National Center for the Study of Collective Bargaining in Higher Education and the Professions (NCSCBHEP) at Hunter College.
