Current Adjunct Health Insurance Extended Through April 30

The current adjunct health insurance through the PSC-CUNY Welfare Fund is extended through April 30. PSC President Barbara Bowen sent the message below on April 16, and will send an update within the next few days, as negotiations continue:

“Thank you for your patience with the long and difficult process of negotiating for ongoing coverage. While the PSC and CUNY have reached resolution on an adjunct health insurance proposal, we do not have final approval from the necessary government agencies. While I hope to have further news shortly, the other union officers and I understand that you cannot be expected to put your healthcare on hold. Therefore, we would advise you to keep any appointments you have scheduled for necessary surgery, medical treatments or examinations in May. I cannot imagine how difficult this year of uncertainty has been. I will write with more information within the week. Meanwhile, the PSC remains committed to our original goal: negotiating stable, ongoing health insurance with no break in health insurance coverage for currently enrolled adjuncts.”
