The NYC budget is being negotiated right now and we need to make sure City Council Members are committed to fully funding the CUNY Community Colleges!
As budget negotiations unfold, join NYPIRG, CUNY USS, PSC/CUNY, Young Invincibles, uAspire, and the CUNY Rising Alliance for CUNY at the Council at City Hall!
We need the City Council to:
- Restore and Expand opportunity programs like ACE, ASAP and College Discovery
- Hire more academic advisors and mental health counselors
- Expand student Metrocard access/support the OMNY Pilot Program
- Fully Fund the City Council Initiatives listed below to ensure Students’ Success
- Campus childcare centers
- Peter Vallone Merit Scholarship Program,
- Citizenship Now
- Campus food pantries
We will meet at 12:00PM at the NYPIRG offices, 9 Murray St, Lower Level, for a short briefing.
Following the briefing we will walk over to City City Hall (Murray St and Broadway) and leaflet just outside the City Hall gates from 12:30-2pm!
