We invite our union siblings throughout CUNY and the wider public to join us for a discussion of labor internationalism amid intensifying authoritarianism and imperialism. Our speakers (Yolande Cadore, Distinguished Lecturer at the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies; Keisuke Fuse, Deputy Secretary General of Zenroren Japanese Trade Union Confederation; and Nadeem Mansour, Postdoctoral Research Scholar at Columbia University) will kick off the event by situating their experiences of International Workers’ Day within liberatory struggles in Grenada, Japan, and Egypt. We aim to draw lessons in community as we prepare for an historic May Day 2026.
