PSC Members Meet at 9:30 AM on West 44th St. between 6th Ave. & Broadway
NYC Labor Day Parade - Saturday, September 6
The annual New York City Labor Day Parade will be held Saturday, September 6, the weekend after the holiday. More than 200 labor unions and worker organizations will participate, including the PSC. Last year, we marched for a fair contract; this year we’re marching to resist the Trump Administration’s attacks on our civil liberties, institutions and democracy. So, make a plan to join us. It will be a powerful way to reengage with the union’s working groups and committees defending immigrants, research funding, academic freedom, LGBTQ+ rights and bodily autonomy. Friends and family are welcome.
Fill out the webform at this link to tell us that you plan to march with the PSC.
The front of the parade steps off from 44th St. & Fifth Ave. and will progress up Fifth Ave. to 64th St. PSC members will meet at 9:30 AM on West 44th St. between 6th Ave. & Broadway. Our union is scheduled to step off at 10:15 AM.

Our candidates for Borough President are Vanessa Gibson for The Bronx, Antonio Reynoso for Brooklyn, Brad Hoylman-Sigal for Manhattan, and Donovan Richards for Queens. Get Involved in the PSC’s Fall Political and Legislative Efforts
PSC members are fighting hard to elect Zohran Mamdani and other CUNY champions across New York, and we support taxes on corporations and the ultra-wealthy to build an excellent university system and strong public services. Join our political and legislative efforts, and help translate our labor power into political power! Sign up here to get on our PSC volunteer list for phone banks, canvassing, voter registration, events in Albany and NYC, and more!
You can also register here for Zohran for Mayor phone banks on Wednesday, September 3rd and Wednesday, September 10th from 6-8 PM. These phone banks are being organized by the NYC Central Labor Council and will be held at the PSC Office (25 Broadway, 15th floor).
Court Support This Friday, Every Thursday and Friday Starting in September
PSC Members Defending Immigrant Rights in the Courts

Half of all immigration courthouse arrests nationally this summer were in Manhattan and PSC has responded. PSC members who have gone through a union training are going to federal courthouses in Lower Manhattan to support immigrant New Yorkers who are being targeted by ICE and DHS for detention and deportations. We do not confront or interfere with law enforcement, but by distributing valuable information and observing hearings, we are able to support those who attend routine mandated hearings. If you’ve participated in the PSC’s court support training, you are welcome to show up this Friday, August 29th at 7:30 AM sharp in Thomas Paine Park, at the northern end of Foley Square. Starting in September, we’ll meet at the same location at 7:30 AM every Thursday and Friday.
Members who have not participated in the online courthouse support training can register here for a Zoom training Monday, September 8 at 6:30PM.
Deepening Immigrant Solidarity Work On Our Campuses
Hybrid ISWG Meeting - Wednesday, September 3, 6:30 PM
The working group will hold an important meeting to update members on the courthouse support work and organize for the fall on-campus campaign. The court watch work has built bonds of solidarity that are strengthening our union and improving our ability to defend our immigrant neighbors. For this reason, we very much hope that you can make this meeting in person although we will also offer a remote option. Register here to have dinner and strategize together at the PSC or to join online.
Fill out this webform to get on the Immigrant Solidarity Working Group list and tell us if you can help with translation.

Adjunct Pay Dates Fall 2025
For the Fall 2025 semester, teaching adjuncts are scheduled to be paid on eight successive adjunct pay dates. At the senior colleges, the first pay date is Thursday, September 4 and the last pay date will be Thursday, December 11. At most community colleges, the first pay date will be Friday, September 12 and the last pay date will be Friday, December 19. LaGuardia, Kingsborough, and Guttman community colleges are on a different schedule. Their first and last Fall session pay dates are respectively Friday, September 26 and Friday, January 2. All dates are posted here on the PSC website.
PSC President James Davis sent a letter to Chancellor Matos Rodríguez earlier this month demanding that adjuncts are paid on time. “On-time pay should be a given at a 21st century university. But at the start of nearly every semester, the union hears from adjuncts facing the financial stress and disrespect of late paychecks. It’s a systemic problem that your administration has, to date, failed to remedy,” the letter says. The Chief, New York City’s labor newspaper, covered the issue.
Contact your campus HR office about obtaining a salary advance if you do not receive your first pay check on time. And be sure to contact your PSC chapter chair and adjunct grievance counselor as well.
