Bargaining Update 24

At the July 3 bargaining session, with nearly forty members observing, the union and management agreed that progress had been made toward the costing of the contract. Proposed changes to the PSC-CUNY Research Awards were discussed, and the parties exchanged counter offers related to salary increases that accompany promotion or reclassification and colleges’ ability to offer salaries above base. Our bargaining team pushed for additional bargaining dates. We now have July 18th at 12:00 PM scheduled and four dates in August. Read the full update.

The next PSC-CUNY bargaining session is Thursday, July 18th. PSC members who have attended the online orientation will be invited to attend. All dues-paying members are welcome to observe, after they have attended the online orientation. Your next opportunities to attend an orientation will be:

PSC will send delegates to the 2024 biennial AFT convention later this month, where they will help to launch a new national campaign – Real Solutions for Higher Education. Focused on access and affordability for students and security and academic freedom for workers, and based in the  AFT’s growing Higher Education division, this campaign is modeled on the Real Solutions for Kids and Communities campaign that addresses pre-K – 12 issues.
