In October and November, PSC chapters are organizing five weeks of action with local campus events and five borough-wide actions to push for a strong and just Contract for #APeoplesCUNY and increased public funding of CUNY. Sign up here to take action in the borough where you work or live.
A demonstration of unity at the October 16th public hearing of the CUNY Board of Trustees is at the center of the October 16-20 Manhattan week of action – and a union-wide priority! The CUNY Board of Trustees sets the university’s strategic vision and agenda for contract negotiations and approves any final agreement. They need to hear from us. Tell us you’ll be there!
The union is mobilizing across CUNY to oppose management’s harmful bargaining agenda. We need you to testify about the value of the PSC’s contract demands, or to attend and show our collective determination for a strong and just contract.
Sign up here to tell us that you can attend the hearing. Tell us at the same link if you plan to testify, and we’ll register you with the Secretary of the Board of Trustees. Email pre-registration via an email to [email protected] prior to noon on Friday, October 13th is required to testify. No registration is required to simply attend the hearing. The PSC will send the registration email on your behalf if you fill this form out BY THURSDAY, OCTOBER 12.
If you’ve never testified before or want a refresher, we’re offering an hour-long online training session at 6:30 PM the evening of Tuesday, October 10. Register here for the training on Zoom.
The October 16th public hearing is an in-person event; there is no remote option. Email pre-registration to [email protected] prior to noon on Friday, October 13th is required to testify. No registration is required to simply attend the hearing. The PSC will send the registration email on your behalf if you fill this form out BY THURSDAY, OCTOBER 12. Oral testimony is limited to three minutes and you are encouraged to submit a written version of your testimony, which can be any length. Here is the official notice from the Board.
The October 16th hearing will begin at 4:30 PM. It will be held at City College in the Marian Anderson Theater in Aaron Davis Hall, 129 Convent Avenue, between West 135th and West 133rd Streets, convenient to the 1 train (stop at 137th St.-City College) and A/B/C trains (stop at 135th St.).
