The pilot agreement about multi-year adjunct appointments will expire this spring, if it is not renegotiated in contract bargaining. May 15 is the contractual deadline for adjunct to be notified about their reappointment or non-reappointment.
Adjunct faculty on three year contracts will keep their contracts until they expire, but they will not be renewed and there will be no more three year contracts issued. The York College chapter of the PSC plans to protest May 15 at noon. We will meet at in the atrium, near the main entrance. We plan to make individual tee shirts with various slogans in support of the adjuncts. Other issues may be raised, but the focus should be on the end to three year contracts. We will wear the tee shirt for the rest of the day.
