HOSTOS CLIP (CUNY Language Immersion Program) confronts drastic budget cuts, depriving many immigrant students a shot at a college education and robbing instructors of their jobs.

Join PSC members this Wednesday, July 31st at 4:00 p.m. at HCC for a rally that calls on HCC President Gomez to step in and provide funding for the Program. Meet in front of the C & B Buildings, near the pedestrian ramp.

CLIP has provided a pathway to professional achievement for thousands of students from our city’s immigrant communities, by providing low-cost immersion English instruction and college preparation. Students spend 25-hours a week improving their English to prepare them to succeed in credit-bearing college classes at Hostos. Students can take classes in the Summer, Fall, and Spring with day or evening five-hour classes held Monday through Friday.

These budget cuts are CUNY-wide, but at other campuses college presidents have stepped in to restore funding. We need your help to convince President Gomez to do the same!

Can we count on you to join us? RSVP with Eric Paul, [email protected]

CUNY's Microsoft email has a security block for mass mailings that has held up some of our emails. A few thousand members have already voted, and we will all have the chance to vote. AAA believes they have a workaround, and they will again send out the message to all eligible members who have not yet voted. The emails will begin to go out in batches tonight, Monday, December 23rd. It may take a while to land in your inbox, (spam, or junk mail.)
