Rally outside Medgar Evers College
Tuesday, August 31 at noon
RSVP HERE.
After three weeks of in-person work and instruction, Medgar Evers has yet to address urgent health and safety concerns raised by staff and faculty. It has become overwhelmingly clear that guidelines the college put forth in its reopening plan have been inconsistently employed, and, in some cases, entirely ignored. With the rise of the highly contagious Delta variant, it is as important as ever that buildings used for in-person work and instruction adhere to CDC guidelines in order to better protect vulnerable populations and slow the spread of COVID-19.
After three health and safety walkthroughs, management has given us partial information and has fallen short on its commitments to implement safety recommendations essential for in-person work. Now, management has put off meeting with us and will not nail down a time for a final walkthrough. Medgar Evers staff, faculty and students deserve transparency and a safe return!
Please join us on Monday, August 30th at 5:30pm for a virtual Town Hall to discuss the health and safety issues at Medgar Evers. Register for the event here.
On Tuesday, August 31st, at 12pm, we will have a demonstration outside of the Bedford building, at 1650 Bedford Ave Brooklyn, NY 11225, to make our voices heard! It is critical that management address these issues.
