DATE: Monday, May 18th

TIME: 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

PARTICIPATION: This event is open to all who wish to attend in cars.* Come and go as you wish! We will not leave our cars or congregate in any way but, technically, caravans are not allowed under current NYC regulations.

*Due to probable rain and the difficulty of maintaining social distancing in traffic, we are concerned for cyclist safety and the possibility of dispersal by NYPD if “congregated.” Experienced cyclists only who are committed to wearing masks and maintaining social distancing must RSVP by Saturday, May 16th at 8:00pm to receive special guidelines and instructions.

ROUTE and approximate times: Click here for a printable map.
Click on the icon in the upper left for driving instructions.

CUNY:
From starting point on north side of E. 42nd Street between 2nd and 3rd Ave, make a right on 3rd Ave, right on 44th Street, right on 2nd Ave., and right on 42nd Street. Repeat.

Governor’s Office:
Going south on 2nd Ave., make a right on 39th St and turn right on 3rd avenue past Gov. Cuomo’s office (633 3rd Ave.) (We will not circle Cuomo’s office.)

Billionaires’ Residences:
Continue uptown on 3rd Ave. Make a left onto 72nd St. and a left onto 5th Ave. and then left onto 64th St and left onto Park Ave. Thanks for participating. You are free to go home and publicize on social media.

We’ll drive past 740 Park Ave., home to Stephen Schwartzman, Trump’s Wall St. backer; Stephen Mnuchin, Trump’s Treasury Secretary; Howard Marks, hedge fund billionaire and John Thain, foreclosure billionaire.

FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS:

Post signs on your car before arriving. Signs on ROOF OF CAR will be seen by onlookers from above in buildings.Take photos of your car and post on social media!

We’ll do our best to stay together but, if your car is separated, do your best to catch up and find the noise!

The forecast is for rain so colorful masking tape can be used on the outside of car and signs should be taped on the inside. Drive with your blinkers on, honk, have fun and be #unionstrong!

CUNY's Microsoft email has a security block for mass mailings that has held up some of our emails. A few thousand members have already voted, and we will all have the chance to vote. AAA believes they have a workaround, and they will again send out the message to all eligible members who have not yet voted. The emails will begin to go out in batches tonight, Monday, December 23rd. It may take a while to land in your inbox, (spam, or junk mail.)
