Unsecured Future at QCC

Top slideshow:

I was hired by the chair of my department six years ago. We had an excellent working relationship. Unfortunately, he passed away suddenly. I felt that my job would be threatened at the time as I did not know whether the new chair would be as supportive. Fortunately, the new chair continued to offer me classes every semester.

Since the implementation of Pathways, I have lost one of my hours as though the course is 3 credits, the class met four hours weekly; therefore my pay has been cut. I have also been required to start the class I normally teach 20 minutes earlier.

I am thankful that I am still teaching, but I do not feel confident that since I have been teaching for six plus years that my position is secure for next semester.
