Tell the CUNY Board: CUNY Must Fund Adjunct Health Insurance

The union will be out in force today (Sept. 26) at the CUNY Board of Trustees meeting at Baruch College. We’ll be there voicing our urgent demand that CUNY fund adjunct health insurance—before 1,700 of our friends and colleagues lose their coverage. Please join us.

Join us if you are an adjunct whose own health insurance is threatened, or if you would be ashamed to work in a university that allowed half its workforce to lose access to health care. We’ll be handing over the petition and making our demands inside the meeting and picketing outside.

More than 2,000 members have already signed the petition. Add your name before noon and we’ll make sure it gets delivered to the Chancellor and the trustees.

Faculty and staff at several colleges are meeting on campus and traveling to the demonstration together; check this list to see if your campus has arranged a meeting spot. Whether you come on your own or in a group, make sure you come.

Follow Us Online

PSC members will be live tweeting from both the Board meeting and the picket line. Follow us @PSC_CUNY, or watch the Twitter feed on the homepage. (If you tweet about the issue, use #AdjunctHI.) Photos of the action will be on Facebook during and after the event. Board meetings are always webcast live on the CUNY website. (The meeting and the webcast will begin at 4:30 PM.)

PSC campus chapters are organizing local actions throughout October. Contact your chapter chair to get involved or come to a chapter meeting to get involved. (Meeting calendar.) Campaign buttons, stickers and posters for your office door will be available at the demonstration and at your chapter’s office. Or download a smaller version of the poster here.
