Coronavirus Bargaining Demands

Wear #RedforEd and Take Action this Thursday
Online and Telephone Actions Available

The budget emergency at CUNY is obvious to PSC members and to the students we educate. The Budget Emergency Day of action this Thursday, March 12 is about making the urgency of our situation at CUNY obvious to Albany, and to the world.

Take the pledge to wear red this Thursday and to take at least one other action to fight for increased CUNY funding. You can join an on-campus demonstration, call a legislator, send a tweet, or just write a sentence about CUNY underfunding. What’s important is that we all participate. Our working conditions and the quality of CUNY students’ education depend on it.

Labor Goes to the Movies Presents: His Girl Friday

This Friday, March 13 the PSC will present His Girl Friday (U.S. 1940), a film by director Howard Hawks, in the PSC Union Hall, 61 Broadway 16th floor, as part of a series on humor. Rosalind Russell and Cary Grant star in this deeply cynical but hilarious celebration of urban news reporting. Russell plays a fast-talking reporter covering an imminent execution which turns into a political football when the murderer on death row escapes. Grant plays Russell’s former newspaper owner – and former husband! – who almost keeps up with Russell’s patter. Doors open at 6:00 PM. Suggested donation of $4. Light refreshments served.

CUNY's Microsoft email has a security block for mass mailings that has held up some of our emails. A few thousand members have already voted, and we will all have the chance to vote. AAA believes they have a workaround, and they will again send out the message to all eligible members who have not yet voted. The emails will begin to go out in batches tonight, Monday, December 23rd. It may take a while to land in your inbox, (spam, or junk mail.)
