No Kings Labor March This Saturday, 10/18

Oct 17, 2025

Steps off from Duarte Square (6th Ave. & Canal St.) 11 AM, Saturday, October 18

NO KINGS LABOR MARCH

We the people say, “No Kings!” We refuse to stand by while the Trump administration escalates its authoritarian power grab—sending masked agents into our streets, abandoning public education, making college less affordable, kicking millions off healthcare, shutting down the government, cutting SNAP benefits, and firing essential federal workers—all to give massive tax cuts to corporations and billionaires.

This Saturday, October 18, everyone in our union–in our city–has a chance to stand against rising fascism at the No Kings mobilization. Register here to march with the PSC in the No Kings Labor March, a feeder march that will start at 11 AM from Duarte Square, 6th Avenue & Canal Street (map). A powerful coalition of labor unions will march up 6th Avenue and converge with other groups at 14th Street.

• Do not be confused if you see No Kings communications from other organizations that say the march will begin at Times Square at 47th and 7th. Some groups will start there but the city’s labor movement will meet at Duarte Square (6th Ave. and Canal St.). We will all meet up at 14th Street.

PSC BIPOC Networking Event

The Power of Our Voices in Modern Labor

October 24, 4:30–7:00 PM, PSC Union Hall, 25 Broadway, 15th Floor

RSVP Here.

Click here to register and join us for a meaningful conversation where your voice takes center stage. The Power of Our Voices in Modern Labor is a space specifically designed by and for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) members to share their experiences and build community within CUNY and the PSC. We’ll explore what keeps members from fully engaging with the union and discuss the resources and support BIPOC members need to thrive and how the PSC can become more inclusive and responsive to all members.

Whether you’ve been involved with the union for years or have felt disconnected at times, we want to hear from you. Every perspective enriches our understanding and strengthens our path forward.

The NYC Metro Coalition for Higher Ed is aligned with a nationwide campaign to defend higher education led by the PSC’s national affiliates, the American Federation of Teachers and the American Association of University Professors. Add your name to the national call of resistance to Trump’s new loyalty oath. Sign this open letter calling on university leaders, faculty, staff and students to unite in rejecting the Trump compacts and to defend the principle that no president has the right to buy obedience or sell off freedom.

Cuomo’s Controversial CUNY Record Resurfaces as Affordability Concerns Dominate Mayor’s Race

Help educate your colleagues, friends and neighbors about the stakes for CUNY in the coming mayoral election by sharing a Politico article published earlier this week. Here’s one of many excerpts that will resonate with PSC members and CUNY allies.

“POLITICO spoke to 16 people, including city and state lawmakers, former state and CUNY officials, and students and advocates, who portrayed a record of neglect toward public higher education — a history they argued bodes poorly for the university if he becomes mayor. They say it’s emblematic of a broader track record as governor of supporting policies hostile to the city he now wants to lead.”

The PSC has ratified an agreement with the CUNY Research Foundation on a new contract for workers at the RF Field Units

After countless hours of bargaining and organizing, and an overwhelming 99% YES ratification vote, the PSC has reached an agreement for a new contract for covered RF employees at the CUNY Graduate Center, LaGuardia Community College, New York City Tech, and the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies. The agreement includes 13.4% across-the-board raises over four years, expanded access to tuition reimbursement payments to more part-time workers, and a signing bonus, among other important wins. Rally for the Fired Four

More than 100 PSC members and CUNY students picketed outside CUNY Central last Friday to defend the Fired Four, four Brooklyn College adjunct faculty members who lost their jobs at BC and other CUNY colleges because of their advocacy for Palestinian human rights. The action, which featured statements from Brooklyn College Chapter leaders, PSC Academic Freedom Committee Chair Tony Alessandrini, and PSC President James Davis was held on the day of the Step Two hearing in the Union’s grievance demanding their reinstatement. Click here for more information about the campaign and to add your name to a letter to CUNY management. More photos and video from the Rally for the Fired Four are on the PSC’s Instagram.

Please, join the PSC at the No Kings Labor March and show the muscle of the NYC labor movement in the fight against right-wing repression.
