PSC Members, Students to CUNY Board Chair Bill Thompson: ‘Contract Now!’

75 PSC members and CUNY students rallied the morning of Friday, June 28 outside Siebert Williams Shank & Co., the Wall Street Investment Bank where CUNY Board of Trustees Chair Bill Thompson serves as Chief Administrative Officer.

We were there outside picketing, chanting and leafletting to let Thompson’s colleagues and the workers in and around his building (100 Wall Street) know that he is accountable for management’s failure to settle a fair contract for PSC members. CUNY is offering sub-inflationary raises, attacking our job security, and pushing changes to university bylaws that threaten educational quality.

Hundreds of passersby took leaflets urging them to call the Siebert Williams Shank & Co offices and tweet at Chancellor Matos Rodriguez to demand that CUNY offer real raises, improve job security, and withdraw the proposed bylaw changes.

After the demonstration at 100 Wall Street, we marched through the financial district, stopping at the Stock Exchange to demand an end to fake austerity and reinvestment in CUNY.
