Sample Blackboard/Email Blurb

Here’s an announcement from CUNY Rising Alliance that I wanted to pass along:

CUNY Rising Alliance is a coalition fighting for a better CUNY, including more financial resources and support for students, through a piece of state legislation called the New Deal for CUNY. This bill would: make an in-state undergraduate degree at CUNY tuition-free; hire more mental health counselors & advisors; hire more than 5,000 full-time faculty and pay adjuncts fairly; repair our buildings and campuses.

Please visit the CUNY Rising Alliance homepage to send a letter to your NYS legislators to ask them to support this bill and prioritize funding for CUNY in next year’s budget: cunyrisingalliance.org. Please share it with friends, CUNY alum, and family!

Sample syllabus/announcement blurb

The fight for more resources at CUNY: CUNY Rising Alliance is a coalition fighting for more financial resources including passing a piece of state legislation called a New Deal For CUNY. This legislation would require New York State to make all CUNY schools free and fully funded, which means free tuition for all students and substantially increased investment in CUNY campuses, student services, and mental health services. The legislation would also guarantee wage equity for part-time faculty and would increase the number of full-time faculty. Please consider visiting the CUNY Rising Alliance homepage to send a letter to your NY State legislators that asks them to support this bill and prioritize funding CUNY in next year’s budget: cunyrisingalliance.org. And spread the word!
