Letters to Albany
The state budget will be decided by April 1. For decades, CUNY has been underfunded. That means non-completive salaries, crumbling infrastructure from pipes bursting in major CUNY classroom buildings to broken faucets and toilets, and on a basic level, no toner, no supplies for everyday teaching in some academic departments. Let lawmakers know the very real and concrete ways that CUNY is severely underfunded. Complete the sentence, “To me, the budget emergency at CUNY means that _______________________ .” Go online and share your thoughts. Let New Yorkers and the people who fund CUNY know that CUNY’s faculty, staff and students deserve more.
