We call on Mayor Mamdani to veto Intro 175-B, which broadly limits free speech outside of educational facilities, such as those that host worker-training programs, libraries, schools, and universities, including all CUNY colleges. The bill is unnecessary and unconstitutional and will invite political repression of unfavored speech. It deprives our students and community allies of their First Amendment rights and encourages the NYPD to aggressively police speech with which the bill sponsors disagree.
