RALLY TO REPAIR ON NOVEMBER 10th
Columbia and NYU are two of the LARGEST private property owners in NYC. Due to a tax loophole, these two real estate companies get to evade over $300 MILLION in property taxes EACH YEAR. Meanwhile, CUNY, the public higher ed system in NYC, goes chronically underfunded. It’s time to REPAIR: Repeal Egregious Property Accumulation and Invest it Right! REPAIR is a set of legislation to get NYU and Columbia to pay its property taxes and funnel that money into CUNY, the higher ed institution that makes NYC run!
