Update: The starting location for today’s (Oct. 5) community labor march in solidarity with the #OccupyWallStreet protest at Zuccotti Park has been changed from City Hall to Foley Square (between Duane St. and Center St.).

The meet up location for PSC members HAS NOT CHANGED. We will gather at the intersection of Warren St and Broadway at 4:15 PM, then at 4:30 PM we will march together to join up with the demonstration at Foley Square.
Members who arrive late should head directly to Foley Square. Look for the red signs that say “PSC Supports You.”

The Executive Council voted Friday (September 30) to endorse the labor support rally for #OccupyWallStreet on Wednesday, October 5, joining several other unions, CUNY students and community groups.

In endorsing the labor support rally, the Executive Council cited the convergence between the PSC’s campaign for a progressive tax structure and #OccupyWallStreet’s focus on the huge economic inequities in this state. We hope that in bringing strong labor support to the October 5 rally we can elevate the statewide campaign not to give millionaires a tax break when schools are being starved of funds, CUNY students are paying more, thousands of state workers are facing layoffs, and hundreds of people across the state are in desperate need after massive floods.

PSC members will gather at the intersection of Warren St. and Broadway at 4:15 PM before joining the rally. The event will run until about 7:30 PM. Click here for a flier. We look forward to seeing you there.

CUNY's Microsoft email has a security block for mass mailings that has held up some of our emails. A few thousand members have already voted, and we will all have the chance to vote. AAA believes they have a workaround, and they will again send out the message to all eligible members who have not yet voted. The emails will begin to go out in batches tonight, Monday, December 23rd. It may take a while to land in your inbox, (spam, or junk mail.)
