PSC Resolution for a Moratorium on Pathways

At the September Delegate Assembly meeting, the delegates passed a resolution reiterating the PSC’s demand for the repeal of Pathways and calling for an immediate moratorium on all further implementation until the CUNY Central Administration explicitly withdraws all forms of coercion and pressure directed at faculty, staff, departments and other governance bodies. The PSC encourages faculty senates, disciplinary councils, departments and other governance bodies to adopt or adapt this resolution as they see fit.

UFS Resolution for a Moratorium on Pathways

The University Faculty Senate (UFS) joined the call for a moratorium on further Pathways implementation with a resolution passed by an overwhelming majority of the UFS plenary on December 4, 2012. The UFS Pathways moratorium resolution calls upon the Chancellery to begin a review of Pathways in January 2013 and conduct this review in consultation with the University Faculty Senate. It also calls on the Chancellery to stop “further implementation of Pathways until this initial and collaborative review is concluded.”

AFT National Convention Resolution

Written by members of the PSC and passed unanimously by the AFT delegates at the national union’s July convention, the Against Austerity Education resolution has particular bearing on the struggle against New York’s disinvestment in CUNY and CUNY’s austerity curriculum, Pathways.

Resolutions and Statements From Across CUNY

Elected faculty bodies, academic departments, discipline councils and other groups have endorsed well over 100 resolutions and public statements opposing Pathways and it’s top-down implementation. The University Faculty Senate has compiled a list of these statement.
