International Commitee Forum: We Charge Genocide

WE CHARGE GENOCIDE

Event Date:
Friday, December 4, 2020 – 2:00pm to 4:30pm
Event Type7:

WE CHARGE GENOCIDE

Robeson.png

In 1951 Paul Robeson presented the petition “We Charge Genocide” to the UN, launching the Civil Rights Congress’ campaign to hold the US government accountable for the atrocities committed against Black people, and making the connection between the violence of racial capitalism and US imperialism. In the context of the pandemic and as we approach the petition’s 70th anniversary, join us for a discussion of lessons we can learn from the original document and from the Black radical tradition more broadly. Panelists will discuss local and global forms of organizing against racism, colonialism, imperialism, and all forms of oppression within and beyond the university. Stop the genocide!
