Frances Fox Piven (CUNY Graduate Center) and Cornel West (Princeton), inspired by the Wisconsin resistance against the agenda of endless cutbacks for working people (promoted in the name of balancing the budget), will moderate a national teach-in on Tuesday, April 5th. Their purpose: Build nationwide resistance to this austerity agenda.
Via the internet, the teach-in will be streamed to campuses across the nation. After the webcast, each campus will have its own extended discussion of how to build the resistance to this austerity agenda.
In New York, we are privileged in that the teach-in originates from the historic Judson Memorial Church in Greenwich Village beginning at 2 pm. We can participate in person by going to the church at 55 Washington Square South. Admission is free.
