Check Not in the Mail?

By

According to information provided by the City of New York to the Municipal Labor Committee, thousands of retired municipal employees did not receive their Medicare Part B premium reimbursement checks owing to a problem with forwarding addresses.

Retirees who have not yet received an expected reimbursement check should write to: NYC Health Benefits Program, 40 Rector Street, Attn: Medicare Unit, New York, NY 10006. Your letter should include Social Security number, current address, telephone number, and a copy of the Medicare card for yourself and any affected dependents. The City’s investigation process takes approximately six to eight weeks from receipt of the information.

Alternatively, retirees who have not received an expected reimbursement check may email information about the problem to the PSC/CUNY Welfare Fund at [email protected]. Be sure to include all the information listed in the paragraph above; the Fund will forward this information to the NYC Health Benefits Program.
